Quantum & Cybersecurity

Preparation For Quantum

From USD 149/year via Quantum Security Defence (QSECDEF)

Quantum technology is moving from research to production. The organisations responsible for critical infrastructure, financial systems, and national security cannot afford to learn about it after it arrives. QSECDEF is the continuous education platform I co-founded to solve that problem. It is where 1,200 professionals across 40 countries go to stay current on quantum security, post-quantum cryptography, and the early applications of quantum compute that will affect their operations.

Independent. Non-vendor-aligned. Co-founded by Steven Vaile.

What members get

Executive education

Weekly training programmes, certifications, and expert-led workshops. Over 100 hours of content designed for business leaders, researchers, and technical teams. Not vendor training. Independent education from practitioners who do this work for governments and critical infrastructure.

Expert advisory access

For enterprises, governments, and critical infrastructure leaders navigating quantum adoption. QSECDEF members include professionals from Five Eyes governments, NATO member institutions, and leading quantum vendors. The advisory network guides organisations from policy to practical implementation.

Intelligence and procurement

Advance notice of new quantum tooling, deep-dive vendor capability assessments, members-only events, and access to the most comprehensive practitioners library online. The organisations shaping national quantum security policy are already represented. If you advise on procurement, policy, or infrastructure resilience, this is where that conversation happens.

Why this matters now

The transition is underway

NIST has finalised the first post-quantum cryptography standards. The UK's NCSC and ENISA have published migration timelines. Organisations that have not started their cryptographic audit are already behind. QSECDEF tracks these developments in real time and translates them into actionable guidance.

Harvest Now, Decrypt Later

State actors are collecting encrypted data today with the expectation of decrypting it when quantum computers become capable. If your organisation handles data with long-term sensitivity, the threat is not future. It is current. Understanding the risk profile is the first step.

Board-level responsibility

Under NIS2, directors carry personal liability for cybersecurity failures. The EU AI Act introduces new oversight obligations. Quantum risk sits at the intersection of both. A board that cannot demonstrate awareness and a plan of action is exposed. QSECDEF provides the education that closes that gap.

The numbers

1,200+ members

Professional members from defence ministries, central banks, Fortune 500 CISOs, quantum vendors, and research institutions.

40+ countries

Including Five Eyes governments, NATO member institutions, and the leading quantum technology companies worldwide.

600+ organisations

Enterprise, government, defence, and critical infrastructure organisations actively preparing for the quantum transition.

I co-founded QSECDEF because the quantum security conversation was happening in fragments. Vendors were talking to vendors. Academics were talking to academics. The people who actually needed to make decisions (CISOs, procurement leads, board advisers) had no independent, non-vendor-aligned source of intelligence. That is what QSECDEF provides. It is the platform I use for my own advisory work, and it is the platform I recommend to every board I advise.
